Anniversary Card - SG12

This week's sketch on Sketch Girl was much easier to work with than the last one!

I needed to make an anniversary card so I went all pink on this:

I ran the card thru my Big Kick using a Sizzix folder to give the card some texture. I love this new (to me at least) embossing folder - it looks so nice!! Then I used a flower that my sister gave me - thanks!! - and used the same paper from the flower for the layers on the card. Only bad thing was that the "a very Happy Anniversary" was kind of light and I didn't have any more paper. Oh well, it's handmade right?! LOL!!!

All about Flowers - CPS153

This week's challenge at Card Positioning Systems is sponsored by PTI. So I decided to use the CPS sketch for the contest today on PTI, which is to make flower embellishments and use them on a card as well as make six on a piece of acetate to give to someone. The CPS sketch:
Here is my card:
And here is the embellishment sheet:
Since I love my 5 petal punch, for the embellishments, I decided to use different petal layers with a button for the center. Some of them have the smaller 5 petal punch layers as well. Just a note...you may want to use removable glue dots...the regular permanent glue dots are just that - Permanent!!!

Back to Cruising! Stamp TV - STVSCJH10

My boss is planning a cruise this year and all the talk about cruises brought back memories of my cruise in 2008. I had started scrapbooking it last year, but never finished, so I decided to pull out the cruise pictures again! This week's sketch over on Stamp TV was perfect for the 2nd page of formal night pictures.
Here is what I came up with:
I had already done the first page - click here - so I went with the same colors and flowers (my favorite stamp!). I was stumped with the middle oval, because I was thinking I had a larger oval nestie...so I used the smaller ovals and put some flowers to fill in the bare spots. Together the 2 layouts look really nice!

SG11 - Layered Hearts

Over on Sketch Girl, the current sketch is pretty challenging!!

I decided to go with a Valentine's card...

I have very few heart stamps so I went all out with the layers - it's actually one stamp stamped several times and pieced together. I was stumped as to what to put in the corners so I decided to go with the scallop circle and a button. I was going to do ribbon on the top and bottom, but it would have been over the top!!

PTI "Paint" by Number Challenge

Well it's been a long break...but the hope for winning a PTI $100 Gift Certificate has me breaking out the crafts again! :) Of course this was a hard challenge to get back into crafting with! PTI has made a sketch for us to use "paint" by number on:

And they've given specific color palettes to use based on the first letter of your user name. I think the H-M color palettes was the hardest - almost changed my user name - LOL!!
So this is my card - a little funky - definitely not my usual colors and style!

I used PTI Ripe Avocado, Raspberry Fizz & White Paper, but didn't have the other 2 colors in the color palette - Orange Zest & Terracotta Tile. So I improvised by using SU Pumpkin Pie paper and inked the CB embossed swirls with SU Really Rust Ink. Inside it says "the Happiest of Days" (stamps from Verve). It's one of those cards that grows on you because I'm actually kinda liking it now! Hope you do too!! :)
